The big Avril Lavigne post

Well, it had to come sooner or later.
First off, Abbey if you read this one, please read it over once or twice to make sure the point is firmly imprinted on your brain before you eat me. Just, you know, to be sure. Braaap.

So.
First let me go on this.
I don't honestly care too much about your opinion. This is mine, take it or leave it.
Now, I'd appreciate if you don't start saying "Oooh Avril's so whiny, blah blah blah".
If that's how you're going to be, please back away now.
I shall blast out my opinion, then you can comment yours.

Basically, I think if you really hate the girl that much, my first question is "how much have you listened to from her?"
I mean, I, personally, still like her newest album. Yeah, it's a little more pop, but so what?
"She changed, it's not her."
Shut up. Her face is on the album cover, it IS her. People change. Get over it. She's not Miley Cyrus and she's not Marilyn Manson. Why do you have to be one or the other? Why do you have to be what you were before? Screw that. Things happen, and people change.
That doesn't mean they're bad. It just means it's different.

Remind me again, why is avril considered whiny to so many people? Hmm?

Unless you're one of the uninformed idiots who like to call her emo and whiny when you've only heard two or three of her songs, then I don't see how you get to that assumption.
She is not whiny. Listen to a few songs in their entirety without going into it with your stupid little pessimistic attitude on her.
Anything But Ordinary, Nobody's Fool, My World, etc.
Just for the sake of all that is good, shut your trap if you haven't given it a chance.

Now to the 'punk' theme of things.

Avril, in my opinion, is not punk. Not really. Time Again, The Sex Pistols, the Ramones, they are punk. Avril...well it's iffy. I'm not really big on calling things 'pop punk'. Call it what you will, just my opinion. I think it's either punk, or it's not. Avril is awesome, but she's just not what I think of punk.
Why? Well, her songs are, like the vast majority of artist, usually about relationships. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. I'm just saying that punk music - usually - tends to be about a bit more [political stuff, annoyances, everything.]

So. That's the Avril post.

*Please note, this isn't against the girl at all. I love Avril. I'm just giving random opinions on particular stuff that people complain about with her because I've got nothing better to do at the moment.
